Visibility is the cornerstone of governance. Alephant logs both the data plane (AI requests) and the control plane (administrative actions).

## API Request Logs

Every request routed through an Alephant Virtual Key is logged, providing full request/response metadata, token counts, and latency.

* **Log Retention:** Logs are retained based on your subscription tier (from 30 days on Free, up to 365 days on Enterprise).
* **Monthly Quotas:** Each plan has a monthly log recording limit. If exceeded, logs are either paused (Free) or billed as an overage (Paid tiers) to ensure continuous monitoring.
* **Exporting:** Pro and Team plans support manual CSV exports, while Enterprise supports automated S3 exports.

## Audit Logs (Control Plane)

Audit Logs provide an immutable trail of administrative actions.

* Tracks events such as creating keys, modifying budgets, inviting admins, and toggling policies.
* **Immutability:** Audit log entries cannot be edited or deleted by any user, including the Workspace Owner.
* Available as read-only on the Team plan, with full export capabilities on Enterprise.
